One of the most iconic scenes from any film is undoubtedly the infamous 'horse head' scene from Francis Ford Coppola's crime saga 'The Godfather'. However, a lesser-known blunder occurred during the making of its prequel and sequel: an actor who wasn't supposed to be speaking ended up doing so anyway.

Carmelo Russo was cast as an extra in both 'The Godfather' (1972) and its highly anticipated follow-up, 'The Godfather II'. His role in each film? Simple enough - just walk by without drawing any attention away from the main stars. Easy money for a relatively minor part, right?

Fast forward decades later though, and you'd be hard pressed to imagine 'The Godfather II' without Carmelo Russo's now-famous improvised lines. In fact, it's become such an integral part of pop culture lore that even modern-day gamers can't help but chuckle whenever they experience the same 'walking problem' for themselves in Activision's 2010 open-world shooter 'Mafia III: Definitive Edition' - a game which cleverly incorporates numerous references and Easter eggs from both Coppola classics.
